JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE:  MANAGER
(Exempt Employee)
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for overall management of office  including the selection, hiring and training of employees, maintenance of budget, sales, marketing, customer relations, service delivery, and accounts receivable functions.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Relations
  • Compiles list of prospective customers based on information from ads, community activities, customer referrals, door hangers and other resources.
  • Sells services to new customers.
  • Conducts all sales calls at potential customers’ homes (including nights and weekends as needed).
  • Determines pricing based on an in-home inspection; and follow procedures for appropriate bid pricing
  • Correctly completes service proposals on IPAD and legibly document customer preferences, credit card information, detailed instructions and directions to customers’ homes.
  • Maintain all customer files.
  • Meet office standards for bid conversion, total sales, dollars by quarter and weekly/biweekly customers’ totals and product mix.
  • Follow-up on leads via telephone or face-to-face contact.
  • Use industry software to maintain appropriate sales data and to submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of sales supplies and customer incentives.
  • Maintains positive customer relations to ensure customer retention and satisfaction as related to NPS Survey scores.
  • Communicates and/or meets with customers when necessary to resolve quality and service issues. Identifies causes and find ways to reduce customer cancelations.
Employee Relations
  • Ensure recruiting, interviewing and staffing of personnel are conducted to efficiently staff the service, sales and administrative functions of the operation.
  • Conducts orientation and coordinates training for new hires.
  • Provide on the job training to all new employees and maintain an ongoing program to develop and promote employees.
  • Performs ride alongs with team members to evaluate team members’ work procedures and customer service skills at least 2 times a week.
  • Responsible for maintaining an injury-free work environment.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings.
  • Jointly conducts/collaborates with Owner/Director and or associates on annual performance appraisal process.
  • Maintains positive employee relations to ensure employee retention.
Internal Operations
  • Responsible for the financial growth of the operation.
  • Implement recommended sales & marketing strategies.
  • Develop plans for the efficient use of materials, equipment and employees.
  • Oversees customer scheduling and team assignments.
  • Subject matter expert on industry software with the ability to run and interpret reports.
  • Performs weekly submission of payroll data ensuring timely submission of file and accuracy of data.
  • Maintains business files to comply with all Company, federal and state regulations (includes employee and customer files).
  • Responsible for control of all budget line items.
  • Monitor and control accounts receivable
  • Evaluate performance, make salary recommendations and administer disciplinary actions consistent with company policy.
  • Serves as Office Safety Coordinator.
  • Ensures a clean, organized and professional work area.
  • Performs all functions and other reasonable, related duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The attributes listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability preferred for the position. 
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two or four year college degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of general business experience with customer interface required.
  • At least two years of employee supervisory experience necessary.
  • At least two years of outside sales or retail experience
     
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business and customer correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to customer questions.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Basic computer skills including Word and Excel.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
 
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages).
 
REASONING ABILITY:
 
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule format.
 
MANUAL DEXTERITY:
  •      Must have average levels of eye / hand / foot coordination.
  •      Must be able to use computer.
  •      Requires the ability to use a variety of office machines and equipment.

  • Ability to pass drug screening
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.  May be required to sit at desk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally climb stairs, visit customer homes.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and carrying.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently in outside weather conditions while in transit to/from the customer’s home.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, pets, pet hair, mold, cleaning solutions, etc.
