About this job
Our client is currently seeking a wire cutter for Landover, MD. Although wire cutting experience would be ideal, it is not at all necessary.
This position will involve working in their wire room (a sectioned off part of the warehouse where there are floor to ceiling racks with massive spools of various gauges of wire). Essentially this person will be receiving an order, moving the massive spools of wire to the cutting table (via a reach truck, when necessary), reading the cutting balance from the last cut, subtracting the amount they need for the order (calculator provided), then cutting the wire with large bolt-cutter like scissors. After it has been cut to the correct length, they coil it up and move it over. This wire is very large gauge and can be extremely heavy (50-100 lbs). This position requires a candidate to be standing and walking all day every day as well as lifting heavy wire hundreds of times per day. The biggest qualifications for this job include a steady work history (maximum of 4 jobs in 5 years), and an ability to learn quickly. They are also seeking individuals with strong warehouse background that are specifically looking for 2nd shift, as there is a very slim posibility of going on to 1st shift.
The hours are 2:30 pm-finish.
