This position is as a Per Diem Admitting/Registration Clerk in the Emergency Department at the Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center. The Admitting/Registration Clerk is responsible for registering patients, verifying Insurance information and collecting appropriate financial liability. You work in the ER Department collaboratively with Nursing, Physicians, Case Managers, and patient families. You must be flexible in availability for scheduled hours, as there is no set schedule. The possibility to work overlap shifts from 10:00 am - 8:30 pm and it is possible to work every weekend.

Employees in this position are responsible for checking in, scheduling appointments, answering Billing questions and managing Patient Medical Records for a clinic. Roles may vary based on the size of the location(s).

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work on simple tasks using established procedures.
  • Depend on others for guidance.
  • Work is typically reviewed by others.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Ability to obtain Certificate for Management of Assaultive Behavior within 90 days of hire.
  • 2+ years of previous Clerical experience in a Hospital, Medical Office, or Medical Clinic.
  • Knowledge of Insurances, both Government and Commercial.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience with MEDITECH.
  • Bilingual fluency with English and Spanish, English and Armenian, English and Chinese, English and Korean, English and Filipino.
