The Admitting & Registration Clerk in the Emergency Department at the Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center is responsible for registering patients, verifying insurance information and collecting appropriate financial liability. Employees in this position work in the ER Department collaboratively with Nursing, Physicians, Case Managers, and patient families. You must be flexible in availability for scheduled hours, as there is no set schedule.


Employees in this position are responsible for checking in, scheduling appointments, answering billing questions and managing patient medical records for a clinic. Roles may vary based on the size of the location(s).

 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Limited work experience.

  • Work on simple tasks using established procedures.

  • Depend on others for guidance.

  • Work is typically reviewed by others.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Certificate for Management of Assaultive Behavior, or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Availability to work variable, full-time, 10-hour afternoon/evening shifts, as well as weekends.

Preferred Qualifications: 



  • Previous Clerical experience
  • Experience working with both Government and Commercial Insurance in a professional setting.
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior Certificate. 

  • Experience with MEDITECH.

  • Bilingual fluency with English and Spanish, English and Armenian, English and Chinese, English and Korean, English and Filipino.
