The Claims Clerk is
responsible for assisting the Claims Department with the daily entry of
professional claims into the claims adjudication system. Responsibilities of
this position include but are not limited to those as outlined below.




Primary Responsibilities:
  • Reliably
    and consistently meets work schedules, productivity requirements and
    deadlines.
  • Flexibility
    in performance of work assigned in order to meet goals.
  • Provides
    departmental workflow support as needed; has a strong team spirit and
    works cooperatively assisting other employees as necessary.
  • Maintains
    confidentiality
  • Complies
    with all departmental as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible
    for acting in accordance with and complying with all departmental and
    company policies in relation to:


    • Compliance Program


    • Risk Management Program


    • Medicare Program
    • Medicaid Program


  • Assists
    in special projects as needed.
  • Reviews
    claim form for accuracy and completeness.
  • Performs
    other duties as required.


Requirements

Requirements:
  • Knowledge
    of CPT-4, HCPS, and ICD-9 codes.
  • Knowledge of managed care and medical
    terminology.
  • High School Diploma/ GED or 10 years of equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years experience in data entry
    position or equivalent.
  • Working Hours M-F 7a-7p

Assets:

  • Bilingual
    (English/Spanish) preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Extended periods of sitting at a computer and use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse
  • Office environment
