Universal Orlando Door Hosts have the opportunity to greet and make our guests feel welcome as they enter one of our exciting venues and join the party!


Door Hosts at Universal Orlando are responsible for:

  • Providing information, conversing with the guests waiting in line and control the flow of the queue.
  • Checking in guests using the Open Table reservation system. Seating guests and parties according to venue procedures. Assisting guests with special accommodations and in emergency situations.
  • Checking identification to ensure that patrons are of legal age. Enforcing alcohol awareness by monitoring intoxicated guests and assist guests upon exiting the venue by packaging purchased glassware.
  • Maintaining cleanliness around the front/facade of the building.        
  • Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.



To perform the role of a Door Host successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Consistent attendance and punctuality is a job requirement.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One year customer service/guest relations experience preferred. 
  • Previous experience in a food and beverage environment helpful; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Door Host job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods; talk; hear audible alarms, voice commands with background noise; use hands and fingers to grip, pinch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; close vision with or without corrective lens (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision with or without corrective lens (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; depth perception (vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus while in changing light conditions e.g., sunshine to indoor or dark conditions); work in varied light conditions including low or diminished lighting; work in an environment with flashing lights including strobe lamps; maintain alertness and attentiveness up to 4 hours while working varying hours; maintain concentration/focus (e.g., ability to interpret the work environment and make decisions on predetermined operating policies and procedure).
  • The individual is frequently required to use repetitive motions more than twice per minute.
  • The individual is occasionally climb stairs/ladders; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach, pull, push with hands and arms below head; lift/push up to 20 pounds with control.


The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Door Host job. 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly to work in outdoor weather conditions to include direct sunlight, heat or cold.
  • While performing this job, the noise level in the work environment is often loud.
