Primary responsibilities for the Clinical Administrative Coordinator include drafting approval, denial, termination and reduction of service letters for our Medicaid and/or Medicare program clients.  The employee is required to evaluate the clinical documentation to ensure it meets regulatory requirements.  The employee must apply knowledge of the State and Federal regulations concerning the services and benefits.  Must demonstrate understanding of the program by selecting the correct template and drafting the letter according to regulatory requirements with correct spelling and grammar. 

Primary Responsibilities: 


  • Follows department Standard Operating Procedures for handling of cases

  • Uses appropriate template

  • Prints/faxes letters

  • Converts to Adobe for saving

  • Updates database

  • Takes direction from others for case handling, such as requesting clarification on cases, responses, and follow-up for requested information.

  • Individual audit scores consistently 96% overall.

  • Has understanding of primary systems

  • Needs guidance with complex issues.

  • Effectively problem solves standard cases consistent with department SOPs.

  • Is able to resolve routine cases on their own with assistance as needed from supv/mgr

  • Is able to identify and address all issues in cases, with direction from SME or Manager. 

  • Reaches out to other areas to make sure issues are fully resolved.

  • Utilizes time management skills to successfully prioritize work load to meet established TAT.

  • Works effectively with other team members to facilitate timely review and closure of cases

  • Assists in projects as needed

  • Cross trained to cover other LOBs in absence/need

  • Works with auditor/manager to complete cases appropriately

  • Participates in team meetings

  • Understands State regulations/contractual requirements:

  • Timeframes

  • Reading grade levels

  • Template requirements

  • Ensure notification requests are cleared out of the queues timely.

  • Initiation and distribution of helpdesk ticket information for IT issues that affect team as whole and not individuals
This specific position is part of the National Letter Team for UnitedHealthcare Clinical Services.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Ability to work Tuesday-Saturday 9am-6pm.

  • 1+ year of experience working with a computer and the ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute.

  • 1+ year of experience working with Microsoft Office.

  • 1+ year of experience working in an Administrative role (typing, writing letters, correspondence, faxes, etc).
Preferred Qualifications: 


  • Healthcare experience.

  • Medicaid or Medicare experience.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:


  • Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods of close vision looking at a computer monitor.

  • Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, floor activity
