About this job


This position is responsible for coordinating the work of assigned technical committees by acting as the company representative at appropriate committee meetings, facilitating committee work before, during and after meetings, planning meeting facilities, working directly with suppliers, ensuring adherence to legal requirements, policies and procedures, and training and supervising the work of on-site temporary help to ensure the production of technical standards that are relevant to the industry.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contributing to the management of assigned technical committees by organizing and planning meetings and activities (40%) including:
- Expediting document production by assuring action items from meetings are carried out by committee members and alerting them to timelines and deadlines
- Consulting with assigned Standards Engineer on committee activities, feedback from members, problems and solutions, etc.
- Acting as the communication focal point for all committee activities by producing and distributing correspondence, resolving problems, answering inquiries, etc. (20%)
- Facilitating and expediting the work of assigned committees by independently representing company as the sole staff person (25%)
- Developing and giving presentations on new procedures, policies, processes, etc. to assigned committees (10%)
- Possessing a working knowledge of Technical Standards Board, operating procedures and requirements, and provide guidance to assigned committees to ensure compliance (5%)
- Contributing to the achievement of organizational goals
- Additional projects as assigned

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field, preferred Associates degree in Business or related field plus at least five years of broad experience in business, meeting planning, or an administrative or customer service support field area, or equivalent, required SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Strong negotiation skills Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills, required Ability to effectively utilize computer and web applications, required Excellent computer skills including Web, Word and Excel Ability to develop and implement meeting plans Strong motivational skills Excellent organizational and planning skills, required Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, required Ability to work with a variety of individuals and coordinate their needs, while maintaining the rules and integrity of the organization Ability to travel independently at least 25% of the time, required
