Civil Land/Site Development Superintendent is responsible for:

  1. Managing daily field operations in relation to earthworks, clearing and grubbing, excavation, drainage, and utility construction for site and residential land developmnet projectes.
  2. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  3. Maintain a safe, drug-free workplace.
  4. Enforce Safety Policies and Procedures.
  5. Perform audits to make sure that crew is adhering to company safety policies.
  6. Conduct daily toolbox talks.
  7. Ensure that proper safety equipment is available and used.
  8. Deliver safe and reliable product to the Client, meeting or exceeding customers' expectations and project specifications the first time every time.
  9. Schedule labor, equipment and tools to accomplish the job in a safe manner and reducing operating cost.
  10. Obtain material with the lead time to make sure it will be available when work begins.
  11. Schedule equipment maintenance and ensure the maintenance is performed regularly.
  12. Drive the schedule using manpower, tools, and equipment in a safe manner.
  13. Supervise, monitor, and improve daily production rates.
  14. Understand the Project Budget and production requirements. Strive to beat the budget. Understand Project Contract, Specifications, and Drawings.
  15. Understand Contract Specifications well enough to recognize Change Orders.
  16. Complete the paperwork required by the position accurately and in a timely manner:
  17. Accidents and/or incidents are to be reported immediately.
  18. Time sheets are accurately coded with the correct job number and phase code and turned in daily.
  19. Provide accurate and detailed project related information in the daily logs.
  20. Record accurate quantity of work performed for each phase code.
  21. Record accurate beginning and ending meter readings for each piece of equipment daily.
  22. Report accurate quantity of gallons of diesel fuel dispensed to each piece of equipment.
  23. Submit complete and accurate expense reports weekly.
  24. Submit safety meetings and equipment inventory records weekly.
  25. Complete and turn in T&M sheets weekly for invoice.

Required Education and Experience:
* Five plus years of experience in the construction trade (earthworks, pipe work, utilities) in a Supervisory role.
* Trained and certified to operate heavy equipment.
