Employees in this position will perform various duties related to the prior authorization guidelines that are utilized by the pharmacy department to review requests for non-preferred medications and medications that require prior authorization. Primary responsibilities include translating clinical guidelines created by clinical pharmacists and converting them into a decision tree format that will be utilized by the prior authorization team to review medication requests, updating existing decision trees and being a primary point of contact when issues with the decision tree are identified. 


 


 

Requirements

Qualifications


Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office products


 


Assets
Undergraduate degree


Experience working in Managed Care or a PBM is preferred

Certified pharmacy technician

Experience working with prior authorizations

Ability to translate prior authorization guidelines into a decision tree template
