Minimum Qualifications

1. Requires thorough "hands on" knowledge of applicable aerospace quality standards, inspection techniques and related information systems.

2. Ability to work independently to prioritize workload and handle diverse tasks is essential.

3. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required.

4. Minimum of high school diploma or GED required. Additional specialized training equal to 2 years of college is preferred.

5. Minimum of 5 years related experience in a production environment including at least 2 years of experience in a lead or management role.

6. Proficient in the use of computers and MS office applications.

Job Duties

* Supervises inspection operations within assigned area of responsibility, ensuring quality, cost and on-time delivery in accordance with production schedule and customer/company commitments, such as First Article Inspection (FAIs) and functional testing.
* Establishes and maintains effective communication among subordinate personnel, functional departments, management and customers to facilitate early problem identification, slippages, etc.. Recommends corrective actions, and works closely with other personnel to ensure timely resolution.
* Assists in the preparation of internal inspection procedures, sketches, instructions and/or inspection plans as needed.
* Provides technical guidance to subordinates.
* Plans and determines manpower, loading and budget requirements based on forecasts. Develops and maintains personnel and process metrics to ensure optimum operation and attainment of targets and trends for key parameters.
* Interviews, hires, appraise and terminate departmental personnel in compliance with federal/state laws and company policies.
* Guides subordinate Lead Inspectors in personnel related issues.
* Provides coaching, guidance and training to subordinate staff to maintain critical skills and support a highly cross-trained employee population.
* Supports, models and enforces the company's personnel, lean, quality, environment and health/safety policies.
* Management Reviews as appropriate. Briefs customers, officials and visitors on all aspects of respective quality operations.
* Maintains currency in state-of-the-art.
