We are looking for a driven and creative thinker to assist the Community Manager with general property administration and related management functions, as well as to act in the Community Manager's capacity in his or her absence. In this role you will assist with maintaining the physical asset and performance of the property. This position gives you considerable responsibility over the welfare of the communities you will be working with and is thus essential to maintaining Forest City's standard of exceptional service in our military housing division. In this position your primary responsibilities will include:
* Leading a team of associates and making operational decisions, focusing on increasing profitability and providing a return on investment
* Assisting in managing the single-community of homes
* Maintaining a working knowledge of all maintenance programs
* Occasionally preparing and approving purchase orders and other documentation
* Preparing service orders for residents, distributing them to appropriate associates and following up on maintenance requests
* Meeting with prospective residents and assessing their needs and eligibility
* Maintaining a working knowledge of leasing policies and procedures and performing functions related to leasing and lease renewals
* Communicating with residents on questions and concerns

To become a valuable member of our team we are looking for the following:
* High School Diploma/GED
* Valid driver's license
* 1-2 years experience in property management, budget implementation, marketing and general maintenance
* Knowledge of residential property management, through either formal education or on-the-job training
* Working knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations
* Proficiency in MS Office
* General knowledge of property management software
