The beautiful Sundial Beach Resort located on Sanibel Island, Florida is seeking a dynamic leader in the General Manager role. Candidates should have a strong hotel/resort management background with a specialized focus in Sales, F&B Management, and Guest Relations. Previous General Manager experience in a Resort setting is highly preferred.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Consistently ensure exceptional guest service in all aspects of Resort operations.
  • Build and maintain relationships by being actively involved with and engaged in Owner services. 
  • Maintain a positive environment for all associates through engagement and leadership.
  • Have a full and functional understanding of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Comply with and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
  • Play a pivotal role in Resort sales efforts, including calling on accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and receptions, and meeting with on-site contacts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Tour the facility daily making adjustments as needed to ensure an optimal guest experience with a focus on cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property.
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate-directed programs in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and standard checkbook accounting procedures.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures and train new managers to ensure compliance.
  • Manage revenue forecasting and budgeting processes as required.
  • Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment that focuses on the guest, through associate development and motivation.
  • Effectively manage all aspects of Resort operations including but not limited to: Maintenance, Guest Relations, Food and Beverage outlets, Recreation Services, Owner Relations and Security.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Solid background and demonstrated success in Food and Beverage operations.
  • Strong community relations abilities.
  • A strong background in Sales & Marketing.
  • Demonstrated accurate Revenue Management experience.
  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel/resort or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience.
  • Must have strong background in Food and Beverage Management.
  • Sales Management experience is required.
  • Previous Resort Management experience is highly preferred.
