In this Java Applications Developer role you will work with a developers on the UHG Portals team. The UHG Portals team develops and supports a suite of Internet facing web applications used by Providers, Employers and Members.  Architects and Developers working in this team often wear multiple-hats and have opportunities to demonstrate leadership by: leading projects, owning technologies, becoming subject matter experts and more.  In this role, you will be involved in developing innovative business solutions by creating new applications, modifying existing applications and providing post production support. Predominantly you will be designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver value to our organization.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop Web pages, interfaces and portlets
  • Develop Web services and endpoints
  • Work on Enterprise Services and layers
  • Work with multiple data sources
  • Interface with the SA team for development specifications
  • Interface with the QA team to ensure appropriate testing 
  • Code, debug, and unit test web applications in stated technologies with associated tools.
  • Contribute to design and specifications.
  • Understand and discuss technical/business specifications.

This position must be located in Minnetonka, MN; Basking Bridge, NJ; or Hartford, CT.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED 
  • 1+ years of hands-on Java/J2EE web applications development experience
  • 1+ years of JSP experience
  • 1+ years of relational database experience (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server experience, etc.)
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain favorable
    adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 .
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Spring framework experience 
  • Webservices experience
  • Hibernate experience
  • JQuery experience
  • HTML experience
  • CSS experience
  • Healthcare experience

As
a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this
position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication
following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 ,
(the National Agency Check or “NAC”). 
Successful completion of the NAC process is a requirement for continued
employment in this role.  NAC processing
will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6
months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense.  Candidates will be allowed to begin
employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance,
and final results will be communicated as they are received.  Failure to obtain final NAC approval will
result in termination from this role.
