Gateway Home and Garden Center, LLC is a family owned & operated wholesale and distribution nursery in Warrenton, VA. Gateway Home & Garden, LLC is committed to providing our customers with the best products and service possible. As we continue to grow, we are seeking friendly, outgoing, part and full-time sales staff to join the Gateway team at our retail garden center. This is a great opportunity to join our team with great work environment and friendly staff.
Our sales associates are an integral part of the Gateway team and play a vital role in the success of our business. Sales associates interact with our retail customers providing them with superior customer service and exceptional plant advice. Applicants must be available to work most weekends during our busy season which is from April through July. This is an hourly, full-time position. We offer a benefits package which includes Health Insurance, Paid Leave, 401K and Profit Sharing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist customers in choosing plant material and other retail items
2. Answer garden related questions and make sound recommendations
3. Assist in general nursery maintenance, including watering and pruning plant materials
4. Order and restock garden center merchandise
5. Create and assist with visual displays and merchandising of products
6. Inventory control
7. Filing
8. Ticket writing
9. Must be computer literate, with working knowledge of windows based applications
Qualified Candidate will have:
* Knowledge of plants, trees, nursery industry (Paver and Segmental wall knowledge a plus)
* Ability to articulate their knowledge clearly to customers
* Good communication skills
* Excellent organization skills
* Able to follow directions
* Great customer service skills
* Ability to multi-task
* Ability to work independently
