Optum is looking for an experienced Project Manager with Business Intelligence experience. The job is located in Little Rock, AR and involves working closely with multiple State Data Warehouse (EDW) teams. A successful candidate will have a strong leadership, advanced problem solving, and communication skills. The candidate must also be comfortable leading many medium-to-large size projects concurrently.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • General management of the project and contract, to include all associated subcontractors
  • Acting as principal interface for Optum with the State customer
  • Scheduling and provisioning resources
  • Presenting all formal communication and correspondence to the State customer
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners to gain understanding of their business needs and adapt departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges
  • Lead and Develop People
  • Manage professional employees by setting team direction, resolving problems and providing guidance to members of your team
  • Leverage diversity and inclusion to drive employee engagement and foster teamwork and collaboration
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior by complying with applicable laws, regulations and policies and requiring the same from others
  • Manage and ensure compliance with IT structures/processes/technologies
  • Maintain knowledge of and leverage IT industry/marketplace technologies and trends
  • Influence or provide input to forecasting and planning activities 
  • Manage teams of Business Analysts, Training and Documentation Specialists, ETL and BI developers
  • Make sure that projects are delivered on-time and of high quality
  • Create schedules, resource plans, and implementation documentation for medium-to-large size projects
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships including those of software, hardware, and consulting service providers
  • Ability to create, manage, and track progress toward revenue and budgetary goals
  • Ability to work closely with clients at various levels within the organization

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Proven 9+ years of Information Technology Experience
  • 5+ years of health care experience, especially focused on claims, eligibility and quality of care analysis
  • Solid 5+ years leading projects, ensuring deliverable quality, tracking progress, and reporting status
  • Solid 5+ years of hands-on overall experience with Data Warehouse technologies within the domain of ETL/data integration, Business Intelligence, and relational database management systems
  • Possess a minimum of five (5) years of account management experience for a government or private sector health care payer
  • Strong organization skills and ability to set priorities and schedule work deadlines
  • Must have excellent communications skills, writing skills, small group facilitation skills and formal presentation skills
  • Experience with application development including full life cycle activities
  • Mentor and lead other staff that requires training and guidance
  • Coordinate cross functional resources; experience managing both direct reports as well as indirect (matrix) personnel
  • Bachelors or Advanced Degree in a related field such as Information Technology/Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Analytics, Business Technology. (Bachelor's degree with ten years' experience managing projects of similar size and complexity may be substituted for an Advanced Degree)
  • Must reside in, or be prepared to relocate to, the Little Rock, AR area
  • Certified Project Management Professional (or planned route to achieve) required

 Preferred Qualifications:



  • Information Technology Architecture Analysis experience
  • Experience with Oracle and/or other RDBMS platforms
  • Experience with Cognos, SAS, and/or other BI and analytic tools
  • Experience managing large data warehouse implementation projects
  • Experience leading requirements sessions with client teams
  • 2 + years' experience working on Medicare/Medicaid projects
  • Medicaid Federal Reporting experience a
