Pro Sales Representative
Portland, OR

POSITION OVERVIEW
The position of Territory Manager - Pro is responsible for driving and building Pro selling efforts of PPG products to multiple end-user segments within a defined multi-store territory through The Home Depot. End-user segments include professionals such as Residential Re-painters, remodelers, property management companies and property investors. This position is responsible for developing productive relationships with Home Depot (THD) Regional Pro Sales Manager (RPSM) and assigned Pro Account Reps (PARs) to build regional sales strategies and review progress to sales goals. This position is actively involved in all large jobs within the region and leverages resources available to achieve top-line growth and sales to Pro end users.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Drives top line sales to Pro customers within a defined territory by prospecting and forming new relationships with Pro customers, generating leads and closing sales.
  • Analyze territory performance reports and develop strategic sales territory business plans.
  • Understand territory, market, customers and competition to develop marketing efforts and leverage sales opportunities.
  • Work with THD PARs on shared leads to drive incremental sales opportunities and cross merchandise related products.
  • Train and demo products to THD associates during sales calls.
  • Plan and participate in store specific events (pro clinics, etc). Sell in additional product for displays and demos; follow up on sales leads.
  • Plan and conduct weekend and after hours training events in HD stores. Participate in all Major Market Training and road show events as scheduled.


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 3-5 years related Pro selling experience.
  • Proven track record of selling success.
  • Experience with retail operations and contractor segment, prior selling experience preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships with and influence.
  • Strong market and industry knowledge
  • Self directed/motivated and drive for results oriented.
  • Finance and analytical capabilities.
  • Solid computer/ time management/prioritization skills, strong oral and written presentation skills.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • The ability to lift up to 45 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work seasonal sales hours, including assigned Saturdays, is required during peak season (typically April through October).
  • Ability to work and travel within assigned territory 90% of time – Periodic evening hours required for trade organization meetings and customer events.
