The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Manager for our Network Operations and Engineering Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary

The Manager of the Planning & Design Team of IP Routing will have overall responsibility for developing network design documentation and supporting the deployment and implementation of the respective designs through interaction with Market Center network operations teams. The focus of this role will be on the Residential line of business and primarily includes IP Routing and Engineering as well as Capacity Planning. This includes oversight and responsibility of the Senior Network Engineers within the Planning & Design IP Routing team (oversight of core routing and switching).
Essential Job Functions:


- Develop and lead the market organization focused on technical innovation and delivery of scalable network architecture.

- Liaison with national and market engineering teams; engage in a dialogue regarding system requirements and implementation.

- Oversee the research and testing of product updates and new technologies.

- Anticipate and plan for " downstream " caveats due to new product implementation.

- Collaborate with peers across functional boundaries.

- Establish resilient service delivery networks at the Market and Area levels.

- Provide input for business continuity planning as it relates to core routing design

- Act as a change agent and culture carrier, balancing between strategic and operating capability with expectation of seamless execution.

- The ability to drive for results with the appropriate strategic foresight, business flexibility, and people sensitivity is key.

Leadership profile:

- Assure adherence to established technology policies in regard to network architecture, systems configuration, service availability, and operations procedures.

- Work closely with the national and market network engineering teams and to ensure the definition and design of TWC ' s converged networks and operations (video, data, and voice) are implemented to expectation.

- Work in conjunction with Planning & Design, Market, and National leadership to establish TWC ' s, uniform architectures and common operating practices (methods, procedures, and tools)

- An effective bridge-builder between Planning & Design and Market implementation organizations, with the necessary people and performance competencies to communicate a passion for winning.

- An effective communicator. Must be capable of building relationships and communicating effectively at every level in the organization. A person of the people - capable of listening and learning, building consensus, and developing common goals, one culture, and one company.

Job Requirements:

- Knowledge of cable industry, FCC rules, and NCTA standards.

- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible technical management and thought leadership.

- In-depth experience leading the end-to-end process of architecture, testing, and implementation of video, voice and data technologies.

- Data networking experience with high capacity data communications transport over Gigabit-Ethernet is preferred.

- Knowledge of analog and digital video, including MPEG.

- Experience in cable environment (HFC/Fiber) and commercial business solutions highly preferred.

- Experience in cable environment (digital systems) highly preferred.

- Able to work effectively with peers, national and market leadership, and vendors in a productive collaborative environment coupled with the ability to be decisive is needed.

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.

Education Requirements:

- Bachelor ' s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent experience in Networks and Network design and Operation, preferably in information systems, computer science, engineering, or related field strongly desired.

- Data networking experience with high capacity data communications transport over Gigabit-Ethernet is advantageous.

- Experience designing, deploying and using Voice over Internet Protocol preferred.

- Proven successful leadership of large scale technical departments. Background in multimedia or broadband communications engineering in a large cable system preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

- CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE, CISSP preferred
Education and Experience:

Bachelor ' s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
