The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a/an Capital Budget Manager for our Engineering & Operations Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary
This supervisory position will oversee a team of Capital Analysts and Coordinators that work closely with department business owners to manage capital spending. The Manager ' s team will be responsible for producing an accurate capital spending forecast, processing capital project authorizations, and the timely submission of purchase requisitions. This team will serve as the primary contact point to functional leaders in regard to all capital budget related matters, and will work closely with the Finance and Accounting departments to ensure that those budget needs are met according to company policies.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee generation and submission of annual capital budget and monthly outlook.
- Review spending, variance analyses, financial metrics, and performance data; provide explanations when required.
- Serve as primary communication channel between Accounting & Finance and the Engineering/Operations organization.
- Prepare and present financial reports and presentation materials as needed.
- Work closely with functional counterparts to develop and implement best practices.
- Other duties as defined to support cost saving, drive efficiency, and departmental initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to effectively manage a staff of direct reports, in multiple locations.
- Experience in the planning and spending of capital.
- Strong financial and accounting knowledge, including processes, policies, terminology, and general capitalization rules.
- Familiarity with the purchasing process: working with vendors, proposals, quotes, and purchase orders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of capital management experience.
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to communicate with high-level executives in a clear and effective manner.
- Ability to work in a fast paced virtual team environment.
- Basic understanding of cable, internet, telecommunications, and software development projects.
- Advanced Excel and proficient PeopleSoft skills.
Education and Experience:
Associate ' s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
