Arbor House Rockwall is looking for a cook. Arbor House is an Assisted Living and Memory Care Community. The cook prepares all aspects of each meal including desserts, working closely with the Dietary Manager to ensure quality presentation and kitchen performance. Solid knowledge of assisted living regulations and cooking experience is a plus.
Cook responsibilities:
1. Prepare and Serve Quality food, including outstanding presentation.
2. Learn the Resident's special diet needs.
3. Control the dry storage and refrigerated/freezer inventory.
4. The Cook shall maintain a clean and safe kitchen.
5. The Cook shall perform daily/weekly cleaning tasks
6. The Cook on duty may be asked to supervise all kitchen staff.
The leading candidate for this job will be in good physical condition able to lift 50 pounds and tolerate sustained cooking activities which require standing. This candidate will also enjoy visiting with the residents and taking compliments and criticism to tailor an overall food program to meet the individual residents' needs. As stated above, a solid knowledge of State Regulations pertaining to Assisted Living communities is a plus.
