An established South Orange County manufacturing company is searching for a Controller. This individual will handle all the accounting functions of the company on a day-to-day basis. Standard costing experience is necessary and experience with basic HR functions is a plus! The Controller reports directly to the President and is responsible for establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. This "Direct Hire" opportunity is available immediately and compensation is based on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing monthly reports that compare budgeted costs to actual and prior costs.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintain and be responsible for company software system, Intuitive.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintain a general ledger; prepare necessary journal entries to maintain financial reporting.
  • Maintain historical financial records.
  • Compute taxes owed and prepare documents to send to outside CPA firm for filing taxes. Prepare various tax returns necessary for compliance with other tax laws.
  • Manage banking relationships.
  • Personally manage the HR responsibility. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include preparing payroll for payroll service, maintaining individual personnel records; insure compliance with local, state and federal payroll regulations.
  • Advise President on company matters and advise on personal financial and tax matters.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing goals and reporting on such goals.




Controller Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in developing standard costs within the ERP system and managing processes.
  • A strong background in developing and tracking budget expenses.
  • Strong record of ability to analyze complex financial information.
  • Experience with Intuitive ERP Software is preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong data entry skills.
  • CPA license is preferred but not required.
