Job Purpose:
This position has the responsibility of designing, building and the repair of stamping and forming dies and assembly fixtures to ensure production departments are running to meet production demands.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Repair existing stamping dies, and production assembly fixtures
2. Ability to rework parts or machine new replacement parts to assist the maintenance department in keeping machines in operation
3. Design and Build stamping and forming dies
4. Perform routine preventive maintenance on existing dies
5. Work with outside shops in the building of and repair of outsourced die work
6. Make assembly/weld fixtures for all departments
7. Build gauges and check fixtures for use in quality assurance
8. Design and build tables, racks and safety equipment to be used in production operations
9. Adhere to all OSHA regulations being mindful of the plant safety policies at all times
10. Ensure work area is neat and clean at end of shift
11. Possess excellent print reading abilities and able to create own design drawings
12. Be proficient and skilled in the usage of all tool & die measuring devices
13. Must be experienced and have knowledge of cutting lathes, mills, saws, drill presses, cutting torchand grinders and demonstrate the safe operation of all tool room machinery and equipment
14. Perform other duties as assigned by department manager
This position requires use of constant outstanding judgment, initiative and ingenuity to work independently toward overall quality objective, and ability to assist in solving complex problems.Concentrated visual attention is required to perform to close tolerances requiring great accuracy and quality.Higher math skills are also a requirement for this position.
The ability to frequently lift or move over 60 lbs. is a requirement of this position.
To ensure your safety, and that of your co-workers, observance of the rules, guidelines and personal protective equipment appropriate to the facility, as well as specific jobs must be adhered to.
