Project Superintendent

  • Has a wide range of experience in field operations and construction means and methods with assignments as Project Engineer and/or Trade Superintendent.
  • Plans, coordinates and manages complex projects with many subcontractors.
  • Utilizes on-line database, company intranet, project management and scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Develops and maintains CPM master schedule, schedule updates, look-ahead schedules, recovery schedules
  • Manages on-site safety requirements through training, meetings, hazard analysis, preparation and consultation with safety director.
  • Competently manages budget and schedule when dealings with field changes.
  • Leads courageously in identifying, correcting and/or avoiding potential schedule, budget or quality issues.
  • Consistently demonstrates company values and seeks to improve through personal and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Experience with the proposal process/submittal process of projects
  • Understanding of construction documents and shop drawings
  • Previous retail//commercial project experience
  • Supervise/mentor direct reports
  • Coordinate work on assigned projects to be completed on or ahead of contract schedule
  • Plan and maintain jobsite logistics, security & safety
  • Manage quality assurance program and third party consultants to comply w/ project specifications.
  • Attend the project kick-off meeting
  • Coordinate jobsite logistic plan with PM
  • Set-up jobsite trailer for project administration
  • Arrange for proper size crews at the jobsite
  • Order construction materials as necessary according to the specifications
  • Oversee and maintenance and protection of company equipment while on site
  • Maintain jobsite security to minimize vandalism, theft, property damage or loss
  • Order and maintain tools according to the project requirements as coordinated w/ the PM
  • Ensure proper and accurate job layout on a timely basis
  • PM/Office role working with team

Qualifications

  • Experience as a superintendent on commercial projects
  • 5-10 years of entire building (ground up to completion) construction.
  • 5-10 year experience working with electrical/mechanical contractors
  • Good understanding of the Southern Illinois Unions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Solid written and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and strong sense of urgency to keep project on demand
