Lowe's 2015 Summer Internship Program offers challenging assignments to undergraduate and graduate students, enhancing their understanding of the retail business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a FORTUNE 100 company. The summer internship program begins with Orientation in late May and concludes in mid-August, 2015. All internships are paid and housing is available for those that qualify. This role has potential for conversion into a full-time position for those that successfully complete the internship and upon candidate's graduation. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited four year college program in order to be eligible for an internship. Preference will be given to students that have or will have completed their junior year (December 2015 or May 2016). Software Developer   Collaborate with developers, business analyst, architects and engineers in conceptualizing, estimating, developing and supporting designs Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of business requirements, objectives and deliverables on a project by project basis Install, configure or translate/code software and solutions according to specifications Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of business solutions   Business Analyst   Proactively communicate and collaborate within IT and the business to analyze functional needs/requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed (business requirements document, business solution document, use cases, etc.) Drive and challenge business on their assumptions and how they will successfully execute their plan Infrastructure Engineer   Responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise servers, active directory and MS exchange platform Provides analysis and recommendations for future technical solutions including ongoing maintenance and upkeep infrastructure Proactive identification of potential issues, diagnosis and creative problem solving Systems Administrator/Operations   Monitors and supports enterprise systems stability, availability and performance by analyzing systems to identify problems, trends and opportunities Provides first level support for enterprise systems by diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving incidents to minimize system downtime Assists in the implementation of hardware and software changes by assisting in the performance of impact analyses of system changes, production schedules , installations, etc. Required Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in IS/MIS/CIS/CIT/BIT/CS/Computer Enginering with knowledge of Operating Systems. - Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming Concepts. - Excellent communication skills. - Problem Solving and Analytical skills. - Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies. Preferred Qualifications: - Preferered 3.0 GPA or higher - One or more leadership experiences - One or more internship experiences/relevant work experience - Knowledge of SDLC - Understanding of one or more operating systems (Windows, Unix, Linux etc) - Basic programming knowledge on any one or more programming languages (Java, C, C++, VB, Cobol, etc )or knowledge on any ERP systems. - Ability as well as willingness to learn the business in unfamiliar areas. - Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment - Keen attention to detail - Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks. - Ability to conduct research into technology related issues. - Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
