CSR – Customer Service Representative – Insurance – Sales – Account Retention – Account Support



Job Purpose:

The CSR assists in the production of new accounts and the retention of existing accounts by providing prompt, efficient, high-quality service to designated accounts in support of operational activities. Interact with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about insurance products and services and to handle and resolve complaints. Sells additional policies to clients based on their insurance packages and interests.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about insurance products or services, take or enter orders, cancel accounts, and obtain details of complaints.

  • Keep records of customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken.

  • Review insurance policy terms to determine whether a particular loss is covered by insurance and determine charges.

  • Conducts periodic service calls for designated accounts, and actively seeks referrals from current client base.

  • Performs special projects at the request of designated clients after being approved by CSR Manager.

  • Maintains a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with customers, agency and company personnel to minimize potential for errors & omissions claims.

  • Sells additional policies to clients based on their insurance packages and interests.

    Essential Skills & Abilities:

  • Able to operate independently.

  • Shows the desire to sell insurance.

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Be detail-oriented and show excellent organizational skills.
    • Demonstrate effective and persuasive presentation skills and has a strong desire to sell insurance products.
    • Have the ability to use research and critical thinking as applied to insurance policies.
    • Able to travel as required.

    Education & Experience:

    The minimum educational requirements for this position is a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Insurance, or Sales (or closely related business field), or an equivalency of two years of experience in sales and have obtained all licenses required by the State Department of Insurance.



    All candidates must be:

  • At least 18 years old and can provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States

  • Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and/or drug screen
