About this job

The position reports to the VP and Accounting manager. This is a higher level exempt position that will be responsible for multiple areas within the accounting department. The position will assist the VP and Manager. This position will review and approve daily reconciliations, journal entries and cash book balancing. The individual will also play an important role in the quarterly call report process as well as assist in the preparation of the monthly internal financial statements. The Senior Accounting Analyst will also play a key role in the bank's FDICIA/SOX testing and development plan. The ability to solve problems and pay attention to detail are skills essential for success in this position. Ideal candidate will have CPA.

Primary Responsibilities:
General Ledger Responsibilities
- Review and approve daily journal entries
- Review and approve daily cash balance reconciliation
- Review and approve daily reconciliations
- Process, track, and accurately account for the issuance of new certificates of deposit
- Ensure that timely payments are made for the interest due on CDs and maturities
- Process, track, and accurately account for the purchase of new CRA bonds
- Assist in investigating out of balance problems that cannot be resolved by other members of the accounting department
- Assist in the monthly preparation of the internal financial statements
- Assist in the Bank's FDICIA/SOX process

Procedures and Controls Responsibilities
- Manage the written process of procedures and controls for their assigned duties within the accounting department
- Annually test written procedures for each process within the department

Intercompany Accounting Responsibilities
- Preparation of the monthly Debt Maturity schedule for CMS
- Preparation of the monthly consolidation of financials for CMS
- Work with CMS accounting department on intercompany accounting processes
- Assist the parent company to resolve any discrepancies between bank's records and CMS records

Other Responsibilities
- Preparing all backup to Program Sponsors for monthly revenue share
- Unclaimed Property due diligence and filings
- Ensure that accounting controls are maintained and bank policies and procedures are followed
- Initiate wire and ACH transactions as needed
- Assist with preparation for internal and external audits as needed
