Position Description
The Analyst will be part of the Collaboration Services team within Enterprise Application Services (EAS). They will be responsible for working closely with our corporate functional areas and associated applications under the Collaboration Services portfolio, including but not limited to: Corporate IT, Corporate Communications, Quality, and IT Security Services.

The Collaboration Services team is responsible for overseeing PPG’s corporate SharePoint environment, CMS (Kentico) environment, and supporting various corporate functions and their applications.

Business
The Analyst is responsible for providing support to a specific business or function, leveraging prior experience. They conduct and analyze business and information technology processes and prepare essential groundwork for business process and application changes. The Analyst is responsible for networking with other PPG Analysts to understand how IT solutions are deployed in other areas to solve business problems. In conjunction with software developers, Analysts solicit client requirements through interviews, workshops, and/or existing systems documentation or procedures and use prototyping, where possible, to solidify client requirements.

Technical
Analysts participate in the definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of business solutions. They identify customer requirements, develop functional specifications, develop test schedules, review test plans, and track and document the development and results of these plans. Analysts alert project managers to potential risks and issues of importance. They uncover client requirements via industry standard analysis techniques such as data flow modeling, case analysis, workflow analysis, functional decompo¬sition analysis, data modeling, and object modeling. Analysts may create, modify, maintain, and schedule procedures and reports using various report-¬writing tools. They document the results of analysis activities using the appropriate templates or analysis tools. Incumbents are responsible for ensuring that solutions delivered to customers adhere to PPG’s methodology and architectural standards.

Interpersonal
Analysts need to develop an understanding of the business area they serve. Their desire for learning and enthusiasm are key to establishing relationships with the customer base. They need to demonstrate openness, flexibility and be fast learners.

Analysts develop and maintain relationships with vendors, consultants or contractors, and professional organizations to maintain professional and technical knowledge of software and systems. Negotiation, influencing and getting to consensus are key attributes of the successful Analyst.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Engineering or Computer Science.
• 3 years of experience working as an Analyst in the Information Technology field supporting web application systems

Preferred Qualifications (In addition to the Minimum Qualifications)
• SharePoint experience

Skills
• Ability to rapidly assimilate assigned business area's products and processes
• Knowledge and experience in gathering requirements, functional design, functional specifications, and working with business processes
• Understanding of how IT affects an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business processes
• Good technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business
• Ability to lead small projects
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing
• Track record of participation on IT project teams
• Must have a strong systems and process orientation
• Must be able to work without close supervision
