Job Description

PPG is currently seeking a Shipper for our Lewisville, TX distribution center. This is a 1st shift position (7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.), with possible overtime and weekend work. The Shipper performs general distribution functions including, but not limited to, picking, packing, checking, stocking, shipping/receiving orders and performance general maintenance duties. Operation of machinery/equipment/forklift will be necessary. PPG Industries offers a starting salary of $13.50 per hour along with immediate benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Eliminate shrinkage of inventory (merchandise), sort out any damaged product and report it to the Supervisor.
  • Place merchandise in designated location, rotate inventory and check for expiration dates.
  • Notify Supervisor of any zero on-hand quantities.
  • Assist in preparing warehouse for inventory.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts.
  • Perform rack management: clean, organize and remove trash from rack and floor.
  • Perform the order fulfillment process with speed and accuracy.
  • Check and verify the accuracy of the pallet prior to surrendering to supervisor/clerk.
  • Build pallets to match pick tickets.
  • Load and unload trucks using a forklift and/or hand truck.
  • Verification of all merchandise received as ordered, in both quantity and type.
  • Make copies and distribute paperwork as required and maintain files.
  • Perform daily tracking of all required paperwork.

This acquisition also brings a portfolio of well established brands to PPG such as Glidden, Glidden Professional, Ralph Lauren Paint, Devoe Coatings and Martha Stewart Living paints; Flood, Sikkens and Synteko woodcare products; plus Liquid Nails adhesives and caulks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
