Production Worker

Entry level openings pay $9/hr and they do not have to have any previous exp.

Day to day activities will include loading and feeding the electroplating lines. The components are loaded on large reels at the front of the line. The components are one long continuous strip that is feed through the line and various cleaning solutions and plating baths.

The production workers are responsible for monitoring the line to make sure it is running properly. They will start a new reel of components when needed. They will also be responsible for monitoring the chemical and liquid resevoirs and adding to them when they are low.

Some general upkeep maintenance of the lines is required as well. The reseviors need to be cleaned out and refilled, generally once a week or every other week.
Leading Technologies electoplates electronic components for various industries. The components are coated in Tin, Nickel, Lead and/or Gold depending on what the client needs. They sell a lot of their product to the telecom industry as well as medical device companies. These components are for PCBs and will go to companies that assemble and solder the circuit boards before going to the end user.

Electoplating is a process where metal is passed through various cleaning solutions (generally a very weak acid) and then are passed through charged plating baths that are loaded with whatever metal the client needs.
