We are seeking a talented and effective Director of Field Operations to build and lead a large team of Regional Managers across a multi-state region for an exciting new account with a major retailer. As the Field Operations Director, your responsibilities will be to oversee the planning and successful execution of all field events across the region centered on delivering outstanding customer engagement and, ultimately, driving dramatic sale growth. In this highly visible role, you will work with all levels of field personnel and with internal, customer and client senior management.

The Director Field Operations manages, trains, coaches, and directs a large team of full time managers and part time Event Specialists who are responsible for supporting and executing all Integrated Marketing Services division events, projects, and initiatives. This is done within a specific geographic area to ensure client and customer program standards are met and sales volume is increased through excellent one-to-one customer engagement at the point of purchase. Collaborate with field personnel at all levels, members of senior office management, as well as, client and customer contacts to maintain operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Director Field Operations manages, trains, coaches, and directs a large team of full time managers and part time Event Specialists who are responsible for supporting and executing all Integrated Marketing Services division events, projects, and initiatives. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Supervisory
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning associates and following up on work results
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training associates
  • Achieve job results through the coaching, counseling, and discipline of associates; monitoring, planning, and appraising job results


Project Scheduling / Coordination / Management / Maintenance
  • Achieve business execution and event/project compliance objectives by prioritizing, and organizing multiple event/project priorities with local managers and Event Specialists.
  • Accomplish specific client and division goals and objectives through adequate staffing and on-date execution according to specific event manual direction and following food safety guidelines as appropriate


Customer Relations (Internal / External)
  • Achieve overall execution objectives by building strong, frequent, and consistent interactions with clients, customers, and key company personnel


Personnel Development
  • Observe Regional and District Managers in field and in daily job duties
  • Develop personalized development plans for each category of associate, successors, contributors, take actions, top/bottom performers specific to each individual’s needs


Administration / Reporting
  • Increase retail effectiveness by communicating and reporting all competitive information, consumer complaints, and customer and client concerns in a timely manner to key office personnel
  • Monitor and improve overall Associate Engagement Scores


Budget / Expense Control
  • Control expense / budget by aggressively and proactively managing retail funds and labor expenses


Additional responsibilities as assigned by one’s supervisor or other manager related to the position/department

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct Reports

Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements
  • Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job
  • Travel up to 50%


Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience



Field of Study/Area of Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in Retail Sales Manager or District Manager within the sales and marketing agency industry, or a direct sales company
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding and experience managing large remote sales team operations
  • Ability to direct, lead, coach, and develop people
  • Mathematical, analytical and research Skills
  • Strong written communication and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of retail reporting systems
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills including familiarity with Word, Excel, and Internet usage


Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
