Position Summary

Performs scheduled accounting duties to ensure the accuracy of the financial statements and analytical reports. Provides support to the Executive and Management Teams by producing reports that share insightful information and promote business improvements. Assists the CFO in guiding business toward financial plan and maintaining bank compliance.

Principal Duties and responsibilities

1) Accounting

  • Perform monthly account reconciliations as assigned by the CFO or Controller

  • Perform monthly/annual variance analysis

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries as requested or as needed

  • Assist Controller to ensure that there are not material misstatements in the financial statements, by searching for errors/inconsistencies in financial statements, and performing corrective action

  • Assist Controller in improving closing process and improving internal controls

  • Provide training as needed or requested

  • Prepare support and answer questions for financial audits as requested by the Controller

    2) Finance

  • Ensure data integrity in Board (reporting software)

  • Provide ongoing maintenance in Board and answer budgetary questions

  • Assist CFO in creating and maintaining financial models

  • Work with budgets to ensure the update of Forecasts on an ongoing basis, including Plan

  • Recommend research projects for identifying business improvement opportunities

  • Perform or lead research projects as assigned by CFO

  • Assist CFO and Controller with bank reporting requirements

  • Maintain awareness of all bank covenants and help ensure compliance by monitoring historical results and forecasts and alerting the CFO to potential compliance issues before they occur

  • Assist Cost Accountant with margin and costing analysis

  • Assist with other assignments as requested by the CFO or Controller

    3) Projects

  • Assist CFO with implementation of Board reporting software, both historical reporting and forecasting future results

  • Lead project to streamline grower accounting process and related inventory transactions in Navision

  • Assist Cost Accountant with implementation of fixed asset module in Navision

  • Assist Cost Accountant with implementation of repairs and maintenance module in Navision

  • Assist Controller on projects as needed to finish the monthly close process in 3 business days after month end

  • Assist or lead other projects as assigned by the CFO



    Other Duties and Responsibilities

    Knowledge, skills, and abilities required

    A. Knowledge: Financial Modeling, Cost Accounting, Forecasting, GAAP, active CPA license preferred

    B. Skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other appropriate Accounting software programs

    C. Abilities: To communicate with all levels of Associates, manage multiple projects effectively, able to lead and summarize status of work and projects, self-starter, repetitive data entry, sit, stand, bend, , and lift
