About this job
TECHNICAL Illustrator duties include develop, design, plan, lay out, and produce a variety of technical illustrations for IETMs. Selects techniques best suited spec-compliant graphics in conformance with established quality standards. Makes orthographic, isometric, and perspective drawings; uses engineering drawings, photographs, models, or rough sketches; coordinates with users to determine illustration objectives and translates into graphic terms; illustrates structural and electronic graphics using two- and three-dimensional materials. Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings, structural assembly drawings, bill of materials and engineering orders. Must have experience identifying MIL SPEC part numbers, manufacturing codes, materials, standards, specifications and sizes of various parts and structural assemblies using multiple resources. Must have an intermediate or better experience level in illustrating orthographic and isometric views with PTC IsoDraw for illustrated part diagrams in accordance to the S1000D.
Develop 3D graphic images of solid modeled aircraft

Develop 3D graphic images of solid modeled aircraft inserted into XML based S1000D Interactive Electronic Technical Manual.
- Work with DS CATIA, Enovia, Inmedius S1000Dmanager CSDB and AuthorPro, IsoDraw, Right Hemisphere, Adobe Creative Suite, Arbotext Epic Editor, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Teamcenter Lifecycle Visualization Professional, Microsoft Office Suite, and other applications, to support desktop publishing.
- Utilize expertise on US military aircraft and weapon systems with S1000D international specification, use of SGML, XML coding
