Tooling Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Manufacturing Tooling Engineer, your responsibilities would include the following: * Reduce costs and improve the performance of the plant by developing and implementing new tooling manufacturing methods and processes. * Provide engineering support for the pneumatic and electrically powered machines including development of shop procedures as well as problem solving support for the manufacturing team. * Produce and maintain detailed manufacturing procedures with sufficient detail to support training requirements and provide for product portability between manufacturing locations. * Assist in capital equipment selection and justification for new and replacement tooling. * Work with vendors to resolve problems affecting tooling. * Coordinate with vendors on new and repairs of tooling. QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred, other engineering degrees considered as applicable. * 5 years prior experience preferred * Candidates must have knowledge of Autocad and/or ProE software * Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment a plus; Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts preferred * Strong PC skills, including Excel, required. * Must be action oriented, creative, and have good problem solving skills. * Must show environmental responsibility and safe work habits *
