Job Description Summary

Supports the Quality Assurance initiative in regards to key supplier development. These duties will include but not be limited to regular supplier audits, quality management systems development at supplier's facilities, statistical studies, program coordination and problem solving.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Act as lead auditor for both internal and external audits
  2. Conduct source inspections at supplier's facility.
  3. Aid suppliers in developing supplier quality systems through the use of quality tools such as measurement system analysis, process mapping and statistical measuring programs.
  4. Coordinate and maintain the supplier corrective action system
  5. Develop and maintain inspection and control plans as required
  6. Provide technical support to key suppliers
  7. Act as a liaison between key suppliers and various departments
  8. Analyze e-warranty and internal databases to determine key supplier candidates for long term system development.
  9. Support company wide continuous improvement through participation in programs such as lean sigma activities.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree.

Program of Study

Engineering or other technical discipline.

Experience

A minimum of three (3) years experience in the field of quality or supplier development with a background in machining, assembly, fabrication and paint.

Certification(s)

Prefer American Society of Quality Certifications in:

  • Certified Quality Engineer
  • Certified Quality Auditor


Knowledge
  • Have a thorough understanding of ISO9000 and other quality management system elements
  • Have a thorough understanding of metrology and manufacturing methods.
  • Must be capable of interpreting complicated blue prints including geometric tolerancing and understanding of engineering terminology related to product and operations.
  • Be familiar with construction equipment manufacturing and related fabricating and machining processes.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the product/processes and quality management systems.
Skills
  • Communication skills, which will allow positive communications with suppliers and all areas of the company.
  • Have an understanding of metrology and manufacturing processes (i.e., machining, hydraulics, weld, etc.)
  • Understanding of processes and systems used to develop sound quality management systems.
  • Have strong analytical skills

Abilities

  • Must be able to travel frequently and communicate freely with both suppliers and internal departments
  • Must have demonstrated competencies relating to job functions and in criteria essential to the effective and efficient performance of the job (i.e. team work, attendance, responsibility, etc.).
  • Demonstrated level of expertise and experience in problem solving, oral and written communication, data analysis/reporting and team work.
