The Security Solutions Architect is a focused, hybrid of roles stemming from the following: technologist, researcher, consultant, and partner working as part of a cross-functional team supporting health exchange projects. Lead project work streams, synthesize and analyze complex data, and work with Security Services team to develop high-quality interim and final deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participating in the definition and lead programs that support the contractual security strategy with our customer
- Acts as a subject matter expert to guide and craft complex security solutions
- Responsible for creating presentations for Senior Level IRM staff
- Responsible for gathering business requirements and aligning Security architecture to those requirements
- Establishes security criteria based on business, compliance, risk reduction and use case
- Recommends security controls, improvements, upgrades and/or purchases
- Conducts complex technology and process assessments for improving security capabilities
- Occasional travel and onsite consulting and customer locations
- Developing metrics that demonstrate current risk state, indicators of progress, and business alignment for those activities
- Recommending changes, when appropriate, to security policies and control standards and operational practices
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports into the Director of Security Architecture Consulting
- Partners with peers and engineering staff
- Partners with PMO to provide consulting services
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of information security experience as a lead
- 5+ years of IT experience
- 2+ years of business experience
- 5+ years of security experience in either eCommerce, Cloud Computing, distributed infrastructures and/or heterogeneous environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a discipline which compliments the role
- Active industry recognized certifications such as: CISSP, CIPP, CISA or other
- Functional experience as a strategy consultant
PREFERRED:
- Functional experience support of Cloud Security Alliance Framework, HIPAA/HITECH, HITRUST, ISO or NIST
- Functional experience with IS security architecture and security principles, approaches, and technologies
- Functional experience with multiple market verticals, including financial services, healthcare, non-profits, consumer products, high-technology, and distributed architectures
- Ability to quickly ascertain existing Optum methodologies and intellectual capital to customize for business partner situation, develop an approach to drive work efforts, and frame potential deliverables
- Working knowledge of security needs for operating systems, databases, applications, Web services, user devices, and networks
- General knowledge of IT Audit techniques
- Experience supporting regulatory and legislative drivers that affect the healthcare industry
- Ability to effectively conduct productive meetings with peers, vendors, directors and managers
- Experience or certifications related to non-IT disciplines, such as PMP, ITIL or Six Sigma
