Design/Detail Engineer

Waukesha County manufacturer is looking for a Design/Detail Engineer to add to their growing team. This is a Direct Hire opportunity that offers a competitive salary and full line of benefits.

This position is responsible for generation of design layouts, models, drawings, and Bill of Materials with regard to mechanical/structural weldments and assemblies for current projects.

Qualified candidates must be able to produce CAD design layouts and recommend optimum solutions. Perform design analysis and calculations with accuracy. Calculate part tolerances, virtual conditions and tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure fit, function and economical manufacture. Produce and check drawings for design intent, completeness, correctness and compliance with company drafting standards. Ability to make timely design decisions, applying creativity and sound judgment.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Design is required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in design of large scale structural/mechanical equipment.
  • Proficient with CAD, ProE, AutoCAD or comparable 3D CAD design software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to prepare drawings, BOMs, and EC Notices consistent with Engineering Department Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Understanding of metal fabrication, forming, tolerances and capabilities within the industrial equipment and construction industries preferred.
