Finish Carpentry
Retail Job Description: Thomas Grace construction is currently seeking a few finish carpenters for a retail remodel in Kohl's stores. Thomas Grace is based out of Stillwater, and they focus mainly on retail department store remodels. They work with companies like Kohl's, Gander Mountain, and Menards. Since majority of the stores are open this positions is a third shift position. They are working with 1-2 other individuals at each store.
They will be working off of blue prints, and it is a pretty standard layout they will follow. Need experience working with hand tools, and finish tools. Work Environment: These individual will be working all over the metro area. They will be at a store with 2 or 3 other individuals, which on will be the superintend or a foreman.
Culture - majority of the workers are very laid back and easy going. Must be able to work hard and meet the deadlines.
Dress Code - jeans, t-shirt, work boots, and a hard hat. Qualifications: Must Haves:
- 2 years of finish carpentry experience
- 2 years of commercial construction experience
- Ability to read blue prints
Nice to Haves:
- Retail construction experience
- Fixture building experience Performance Expectations: Typical day: there is a strict timeline that needs to be followed for each store. They will be working Sunday - Thursday third shift. They will be required to work OT in order to get the job completed.
Best Vs Average: Best employee goes in and gets the job done. They will have deadlines to hit. Finding an individual that has finish carpentry experience in a retail setting would be the best candidate.
1st day requirements: Will train the candidates on their process the first day, after that these candidates are expected to understand that tasks and work independently.
