CHEFS
The qualified individual must have strong culinary knowledge as well as technical and customer service skills. This position will be responsible for budget management, controlling food and labor costs to meet budget, managing and maintaining restaurant and banquet menus, maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres to and embraces company food and beverage mandated menu and purchasing programs
- Foster a team work environment and build a team in F&B
- Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food
- Estimates food consumption and purchases from the corporately specified food program
- Assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary
- Plans, supervises, and executes of all banquet functions in conjunction with the Operations and Sales Staff including supervision of the preparation and service of food and refreshments, as well as clean-up
- Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition
- Ensures that product quality, freshness and presentation always meet company standard
- Ensures that kitchen and production areas have proper working equipment at all times
- Completes facility walks each week for evaluation and action items
- Develops monthly action items to address any issues (including spoilage, margin, quality of product, etc)
- Interacts with client/customers on a daily/weekly basis
- Must be able to coordinate staff and resources in a high volume environment
- Participates in all team and center meetings
- Performs other duties, assigned.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience in the kitchen management role
- Experience preparing catered events site and presenting foods for special events is desirable
- BA/BS or Culinary Degree or equivalent experience
- The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while providing a high level of customer service is critical
- Strong attention to details
- Strong organizational skills
