The
Report Analyst is responsible for the reporting and analytical aspects
of the external client relationship. As an integral part of this team
this position participates in the internal client preparation and may
participate in client meetings. Responsibilities include leading small
cross-functional projects that relate to client analytical needs and
reporting enhancements. The
report
analyst also serves as a subject matter expert for OptumRx in the
training of clients in utilizing the Online Reporting system as well as
guiding the data analytics for the team.

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Running reports and building queries in online reporting and other business intelligence systems
  • Provides training for clients on use of the online reporting tool and reports generation activities
  • Acts as the subject matter expert on data analytics and online reporting
  • Working closely with the account team and pharmacists to meet the needs of the client
  • Examining trends and providing recommendations to the team and clients
  • Conducts various studies that may include analyzing, reviewing, trending, and presenting information for management needs
  • Supports
    short and long term operational and reporting activities Develops,
    enhances, and maintains utilization and trending reports for clients
  • Prepares, analyzes and monitors new, routine and ad hoc reports.
  • Evaluates, interprets and analyzes data and business processes
  • Assumes responsibility for data integrity among various internal group sources
  • Gathers business requirements as needed
  • Performs User Acceptance Testing (UAT) when needed
  • All other duties as required or assigned.
This position is located in Plano, TX (preferred); Phoenix, AZ; Cypress, CA; or Irvine, CA.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma/GED
    required
  • 3+ years of previous experience
    within a Report Analyst role; i.e. gathering requirements for business
    reporting, process management, and data analytics; conducting data
    analysis on ad hoc reporting, analyzing client utilization patterns,
    running ad hoc reports against data warehouses, generating ad hoc reports
    as required, and conducting root cause analyses on reporting to resolve
    data discrepancies
  • 3+ years of experience with
    Microsoft Excel; i.e. creating pivot tables, macros, v-lookups, h-lookups,
    etc
  • 3+ years of experience
    utilizing business intelligence tool from a reporting standpoint; i.e.
    Cognos, Crystal Reporting, Micro Strategy, etc.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prescription Benefit Management
    (PBM) reporting and analytics experience
  • Business Analysis experience
  • Microsoft Access experience (running
    queries)
