Service Center Engineer

Job Description: Service Center Manufacturing EngineerSan Leandro, California Main Purpose:The primary role of this position is to provide technical guidance and support to our repair and manufacturing facility. This entails defining the most cost efficient methods of manufacturing and repair while insuring all work is done to a high quality standard. It requires hands on participation in our repair and manufacturing process and in working with a wide array of fellow employees, customers and vendors. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Review customer specifications and work with sales and customer personnel to help insure we meet customers requirements Participate in developing manufacturing and repair requirements for each specific job as required Create bills of material as required Working with existing engineering standards, define specific procedures and the associated QA requirements Help develop repair and manufacturing standards not yet established Create sketches and drawings as required Provide project management for specific projects Assist as needed in providing cost estimates. Liaison between manufacturing and engineering for all technical issues. Review repair / manufacturing techniques and devise ways to improve efficiencies The person in this role will report to the Service Center General Mgr. With dotted line responsibility to the Engineering Mgr. Key interaction will be with manufacturing and repair personnel at the facility, aftermarket sales personnel, customers and engineering. The candidate will need to be self motivated and able to handle / coordinate a heavy workload.
