• Position has two key roles:o Be the key internal consultant to help architect and manage launch of next generation prospect analytic and targeting infrastructure for card acquisition marketing that enables analytic and operational deployment for marketing campaigns (digital and mail)o Provide ongoing analytical support for several digital channels to be determined based on team and business needs (Potentially including Paid Search, Organic Search, Banner advertising, Affiliate, Discover Site Experience and Conversion Optimization, email, Refer a Friend, Social, Collaborative targeting with offline channels (e.g., Mail), etc.)• Candidate should develop practical solutions with a bias towards quickly taking advantage of opportunities that exist today while considering longer term strategic benefits and that are in alignment with the strong Discover compliance and Model risk management framework• Position acts as subject matter expert by providing advice to management, clients and business partners on the effective use of analytical methodologies and industry developments, particularly those related to online acquisition measurement, marketing attribution, and competitive insights.• Position helps execute on the vision of moving from siloed channel marketing to marketing the customer across channels. Works with multiple vendors to architect integration of offline/online in a privacy compliant manner.• Position helps drive acquisition analytic strategy to help business partners achieve volume, usage, and profitability goals. Manages and executes acquisition analysis and modeling through a combination of hands on execution and management of offshore analytic project delivery.• Establish and maintain a thorough understanding of the statistical and business impact of key variables on online account acquisition and post-acquisition behavior. Proactively identify trends or developments that may impact business plans or performance or which may represent opportunities. Work with internal reporting team to establish digital dashboards of KPIs.• Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
Requirements:• MS in heavily quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)• 5+ years of applied analytic experience. Experience with Digital Advertising and financial industy. Experience with consumer targeting and segmentation and behavioral profiling, campaign performance evaluation, profitability tracking. Experience working with external analytic vendors and media agencies.• Proficiency with analytic tools (SAS, SQL, R, Hadoop/Hive/Pig & Big Data, etc.)• Working knowledge of digital advertising industry & tools (AdWords, DoubleClick, Adobe Site Catalyst, Java script page tagging, pixeling, etc.)• Proficiency with MS office Suite• Candidate should be proactive, organized, disciplined, and detail oriented, with an extremely strong communication ability to adequately provide vision, communicate requirements, quickly diagnose and resolve or escalate issues with a diverse set of functional teams and vendors with varying levels of knowledge.• Candidate needs to have strong knowledge of technologies and capabilities deployed for web analytics• Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills across organization and leadership levels
