Summary: Coordinates quality food service activities of the fast casual restaurant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees entire operations of kitchen
  • Maintains inventory through supply purchase, counts inventory with Manager for COGS analysis
  • Confers with food preparation and other personnel to plan service of menu items.
  • Inspects food and food preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints.
  • Understands budget to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures including waste stay within budget limitations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 1-10 employees in Line Cooks positions. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring with approval from Restaurant Manager, training employees; scheduling, planning, assigning, and directing work; communicating work appraisal, performance issues, and disciplinary action to Restaurant Manager to take action; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory and Ordering Software or similar. Labor scheduling software or similar.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have or obtain within 30 days of employment Serv Safe Certification or equivalent.
