Our Exciting Work Environment

Grant Grove Village serves as base camp with immediate access to the nearly 900,000 acres of Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park. Visitors will discover a hub of services and amenities at Grant Grove Village. Set just inside the Kings Canyon’s Big Stump entrance on Highway 180, Grant Grove Village is home to the John Muir Lodge, Grant Grove Cabins, the Kings Canyon Visitor Center, Grant Grove Market, gift shop and Grant Grove Village Restaurant.

Responsibilities

Represents DNC Parks & Resorts-Kings Canyon in leading by example, setting the pace and standards, and inspiring the team to deliver food to specifications. The Restaurant Supervisor will create and foster a work environment where being an associate is exciting and fulfilling and not "just another job."

Leads associates by coaching, giving direction and may include training, scheduling, payroll and interviewing.

Demonstrate fundamental food and beverage knowledge and serve as the liaison between culinary and restaurant operations.

Ensure overall outlet performance, which includes product quality and service standards.

Ensures associates report to duty on time, well groomed and in proper uniform.

Inspect all areas of the operation on a daily basis.

Assist all visitors with polite, hospitable and immediate response to problems and complaints.

Ensure that all work areas are neat, clean and organized with strong attention to sanitation and safety.

Ensures all DNC Parks & Resorts, GuestPath, Environmental GreenPath, National Park Service Guidelines and OSHA policies and procedures are understood, followed and implemented.

Qualifications

High school diploma. Associate Degree in Culinary Arts or similar desirable.

Two years previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Must be able to implement rules and direct staff.

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Must have the ability to multi task and solve problems.

Excellent customer service and employee relations skills.

A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
