Essential Job Functions:
This role plays a critical role directing the daily operations and activities of NaviSite’s Custom Application Development (CAD) team as well as working with the Sales, Solution Architects and Marketing teams to drive new business and to grow the services being provided to existing customer.
Responsible for a staff of up to 30 software development professionals and works with a variety of customers that contract for application development and support services.
Required to work well with our Customers as well as all internal NaviSite teams.

Job Requirements:
Provides direction, leadership, & professional development to a team of highly skilled technology professionals
Provides technical direction, sets vision, goals and direction of the team
Responsible for revenue generation and profit margins for the team
Works closely with the Marketing, Product Management and Sales teams to drive new business development initiatives
Extensive technical expertise in web based applications, User Interface Design methods, eCommerce, Content Management and Search technology / platforms
Serves as a point of escalation for external customers as well as internal team members
Manage resource commitments across multiple customers / projects
Manage the process for tracking, invoicing and reporting of billable services
Participate in the Incident Management Process
Monitor daily performance of all roles to ensure proper procedures are being followed
Manage team performance and efficiency and make recommendations for process improvements resulting in increased quality of service and customer satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (or related field) and a minimum of 15 years of experience in Software Development/Operations – with 3-5 years in a team leadership role
Proven technical management experience in developing, delivering and supporting quality software solutions
5 – 10 years of experience in a professional services organization
Experience with variety of application development methodologies including Agile as well as more traditional SDLC
Strong expertise in customer / vendor relationship management
Experience contributing to sales proposals and providing technical sales support
Comfortable leading and influencing remote disparate groups
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization and teamwork skills
Understanding of enterprise application environments and application development / management tools
Proficiency with troubleshooting software and hardware issues
Knowledge of ticketing systems used for incident and change management
Familiarity with Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery

Education:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
Manager: Delegates authority to carry out work of a unit to subordinate supervisors or managers
