The GSE Technician will support the building, installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and structures related to the testing and development of rockets and their components used for space travel. Equipment includes pumps, tanks, valves, fuel systems, control panels, instrumentation, and building structures related to launch pads and launch activities.Experience working with electrical and mechanical components in terms of installation and repair is required. Systems will include cryogenic, flammable, hypergolic, and pyrophoric components. Equipment includes mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components. Technicians will work with engineers to develop novel ways to create, improve, and streamline equipment and reliability testing of rockets and their components.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Ability
  • Electrical Wiring Experience
  • Troubleshooting Experience
  • Vacuum, pump, valve, experience
  • High School Diploma with valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Associates degree or mechanical certification preferred.
  • Must be able to conduct very detailed troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Must be familiar working with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Must be able to read blue prints and scematics.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance and true troubleshooting for repairs versus swapping/replacing parts (actually fixing the part).
  • Experience working with nitrogen, cryogenics, boilers preferred

Environment:

The site in McGregor tests every part, component, and system that will be used on the final product (rocket designed for space travel). 90% of the job will be outdoors in the elements in all climate conditions to include heat, cold, precipitation and wind. Shifts will change daily as test schedules dictate. Work locations include some enclosed elevated pads that are accessed by stairs or elevator. Must be able to work in all conditions and climb stairs repeatedly.

*Willing to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, but schedule can push to as many as 70 hours per week*
Pay:
$20-28/hr plus $65/day in per diem if over 100 miles away
