The Financial Operations Staff Associate will be assigned multiple accounts and business controls. The primary purpose of the position is to ensure General Ledger accounts are accurately reconciled and business processes are fully balanced. This position will interact with multiple areas of the business. The Staff Associate will be responsible for comprehending the business processes fully and ensuring the General Ledger accurately reflects the transaction activity. The Staff Associate will also be expected to represent Finance on various Corporate Initiatives, providing requirements, testing and post implementation follow-up.

Qualifications

BS Degree or Discover Finance experience required with 1-2 years minimum relevant work experience. Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance required and banking/credit card industry experience preferred.

Ability to effectively comprehend and apply accounting principles. Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems independently. Ability to interact effectively with multiple business areas. Self-starter with solid organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office. This is an entry level position.
