Job Description:

  • Civil Engineer is responsible for creating site designs independently under broad direction from a Project Manager on various site design projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or Microstation platforms.
  • Perform non-routine design assignments requiring application of advanced CAD techniques and provide basic and complex design calculations.
  • Complete detailed construction drawings and manage process with supervision of the project manager.

Qualifications:

  • Must be extremely proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or Microstation.
  • Must have very strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Designer focused on a variety of commercial and institutional scale site designs.
  • Virginia or Maryland experience a must. DC experience is considered a significant plus.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Experience in developing own time management and organizational skills required to undertake multiple projects or facets of various projects.
  • Good design and graphic skills.
  • Strong technical and construction knowledge.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of grading, construction materials and detailing.
  • Ability to organize and direct work assignments and develop junior staff.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
