This candidate will work with a group of 10 network engineers who design, implement, and maintain connectivity to all third party organizations outside the UnitedHealth Group corporate environment. The engineer will interface with UnitedHealth Group businesses and external organizations to gather project requirements and implement network solutions to meet business requirements. This engineer will specifically support contact center connectivity providing data and voice integration with third party contact centers.


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Work with internal UnitedHealth Group businesses to provide network data and VoIP integration between corporate data centers and third party call centers.

  • Provide network engineering support for corporate projects involving private WAN and VPN connections to third party locations; stateside and internationally

  • Choose WAN and VPN connectivity options for third parties based on business requirement and design templates

  • Configure, document, and maintain Site to Site VPN connections using Cisco IOS

  • Understand Telco Services and submit circuit orders

  • Work with Telco Carriers to test and turn up new circuits

  • Order network hardware

  • Load IOS, configure, and install network hardware including Cisco routers and switches

  • Document the network design and supporting information using Visio drawings, spreadsheets, and databases

  • Understand firewall systems and submit firewall policy change requests as needed

  • Adhere to Corporate Change Control Procedures

 


Positions in this function are involved in all aspects of design, engineering and operations of the voice and data networks and related equipment. Provides project planning and implementation of new network systems and direct technical analysis of hardware, software and networks.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • 4 or more years configuring, installing, and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches

  • 2 or more years configuring Cisco switches with layer 2 and layer 3 VLans, trunking, and high availability options

  • 2 or more years working with global Telco companies turning up and troubleshooting circuit installations including: MPLS, PIP, and Ethernet offerings

  • 2 or more years configuring IPsec Site to Site VPN using Cisco hardware to third party IPSec devices

  • 2 or more years using BGP and OSPF routing protocols

  • 2 or more years knowledge of Firewall operations using Cisco, CheckPoint or other firewall vendors

  • 2 or more years VoIP experience

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working projects and tasks within a Change Management system

  • Experience working with content switching and load balancing

  • Working knowledge of QoS in a WAN/LAN environment

  • Working knowledge of SSL and Client VPN

  • Knowledge of UNIX OS and using scripting functions
