Summary

The Senior Conceptor contributes to all facets of concept development; from brainstorming to the initial formation of program ideas through final written communication (e.g., decks) that translates and articulates the creative concept at all program communication touch points. Position Summary

The Senior Conceptor contributes to all facets of concept development; from brainstorming to the initial formation of program ideas through final written communication (e.g., decks) that translates and articulates the creative concept at all program communication touch points. Drives concepting and creative thinking with an understanding of customer objectives, insight, and strategy as well as provide 360 o thinking that combines the traditional offline world with the ever evolving and dynamic digital world (both online, instore, and experiential opportunities). Responsible for achieving conceptual and creative excellence that is on strategy, on time, innovative, and considered to be uniquely qualified as “INtegrated” work product through brainstorming, concept development, internal concept approval, and final concept presentation to client.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop written communications (i.e., decks) that effectively communicate and sell the developed marketing concepts internally and externally while being adept at presenting and selling the ideas in presentation situations as they arise.
  • Contribute to the marketing idea concept development process at Integrated. Work with the Senior Director Concepting within our existing processes for concept development from brainstorming to presentation.
  • Understand marketing and creative briefs in order to ask strategic questions of account team/clients in order to deliver customer concepts that meet client business objectives and include customer insights that are executable within customer constraints. In partnership with Strategic Planning team and the Senior Director Concepting help evaluate program briefs to ensure strategic thinking and insight are clearly articulated with regard to project assignment, and are plainly defined in order for the concept team to develop and execute customer-centric creative solutions.
  • Manage the process for the execution of all agency brainstorming as the facilitator or moderator of brainstorming sessions. Work independently on developing marketing concepts for client service.
  • In partnership with Strategic Planning and the Senior Director Concepting, help evaluate the program brief to ensure strategic thinking and insight are clearly articulated with regard to project assignment and are plainly defined in order for the concept team to develop and execute customer-centric creative solutions.
  • Keep abreast of popular culture, marketing trends including digital and social media, industry developments, and competitors with the intention of applying that “insight” to concept development.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • 6-8 years of experience in an integrated marketing agency; consumer promotion experience required; shopper marketing experience is a plus.
  • Held previous positions as an Associate Creative Director, Conceptor and/or Copywriter.
  • Must have a portfolio reflecting a body of work; including samples of plans/write-ups of concepts/programs.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Creative Thinker- Demonstrate the ability to think strategically about a client’s business and product while delivering new ways to creatively achieve their strategic goals.
  • Moderator- Manage and be sensitive to group dynamics; be able to provoke and promote free thinking in order to generate ideas from brainstorming participants.
  • Collaborator- Partner with Account Service and Creative Directors to develop cutting edge, strategically sound conceptual ideas that serve as the base of our shopper marketing programs.
  • Presenter- Ability to present ideas and/or various creative campaigns/pieces to clients so they understand the strategic underpinnings, appreciate the nuanced design, and love the work.
  • Communicator- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Confident, enthusiastic, and positive with the ability to articulate fundamental strategies of a creative idea, whether in copy or inclusive of visual design.
  • Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project) or similar project tool (s)

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
