JOB TITLE: Catering Supervisor - Delco SUPERVISOR TITLE(S): Delco General Manager FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt LEVEL: Hourly Retail Associate JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the flawless execution of shifts with the end goal of growing Catering sales and delivering exceptional customer service. Responsible for the supervision of all Catering production associates. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Catering Expert; coaches Catering production staff and Catering sales staff to drive the Catering business
• Successfully manages shift to ensure customer satisfaction, order accuracy, and on-time delivery
• Directs the work and manages the performance of associates in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
• Proactively addresses and/or escalates employee relations issues to the General Manager
• Time management for production, delivery and other tasks
• Customer satisfaction: advises customers and recommends best options to fit their needs; works towards 100% customer satisfaction
• Team builder, coach and motivator; ensures a positive work environment
• Communicates next day’s staffing and scheduling needs to GM
• Communicates next day’s pan-up needs to the GM
• Communicates next day’s product preparation needs
• Sets up next day’s catering orders and packaging
• Problem Solver with desired outcomes
• Ensures on time delivery: understands logistics and geographic needs to manage the schedule
• Coordinates delivery needs with GM utilizing Delco Delivery Drivers and deployed Dispatcher
• Trains Delivery Drivers in the proper catering presentation and set-up if required
• Reconciles Catering sales records daily
• Maintains Catering records according to policy
• Works with Catering Database
• Ability to perform all catering positions that this position oversees; trains and develops associates to excel in their roles
• Accurately inputs all catering transactions through the POS with integrity and attention to all order details MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Performs production duties as needed
• May perform delivery as needed
• Helps with production during busy production lunch times EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED An equivalent amount of training, education and experience will be considered.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associates degree from accredited college or technical school preferred
• One to five years of job-related prior experience required
• Experience with high volume catering KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain control in stressful situations
• Knowledge of catering menu and production requirements
• Ability to properly plan for execution
• Ability to change and adapt to situations that arise while maintaining standards
• Ability to anticipate and identify obstacles during the course of the shift and make appropriate adjustments
• Ability to oversee and execute the catering database
• Ability to apply common sense to solve problems in a timely manner
• Able to work flexible hours with very early start times
• Skilled at delegating work
• Ability to quickly learn new tasks
• Demonstrates a high level of personal accountability
• Skilled at both verbal and written communication
• Excellent communication and customer service skills over the phone
• Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel) EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM THE JOB which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
• Register/POS WORK ENVIRONMENT Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
